THERE is no doubt that our victory over the Ospreys last weekend was one of the most important of our season.

In terms of developing momentum as we go into the final six games, it was a massive victory and one which ultimately came down to our determination to get the job done.

The manner in which Tommy Seymour scored our winning try typified all of that in the way, by sheer refusal to come off second best, he managed to get his hand on the ball and make the touchdown.

A further example of our determination to win was Niko Matawalu's charge down of a last-minute Dan Biggar drop goal attempt.

What the Ospreys victory has done has meant that if we can beat Treviso tomorrow night at Scotstoun then we will go above them and into fourth place on our own.

However, we are fully aware of the challenge our Italian visitors pose to us. In recent weeks Treviso have shown against Munster - against whom they turned in a typically obdurate performance at Thomond Park a fortnight back - that they are easy touches for no one when they have their stack of Italian internationals back in their team.

Then last Saturday they defeated Edinburgh at the Stadio Monigo in a victory that showed a growing belief in their squad and a real attacking edge to their play.

So all of that will mean that Treviso will arrive at Scotstoun tomorrow night in buoyant mood with their confidence high.

But, of course, while we have the utmost respect for Treviso and everything they will bring to the table we must also focus on what we must improve upon from the Ospreys game. The effort the players put in last Friday will have to be repeated tomorrow, with an improvement in our accuracy when we attack with ball in hand.

Discipline has been a watchword for us all-season, and this isn't just related to the penalty count. Discipline is also about when to pass or when to hold on to ball - and this is something we've been working on this week.

Injury-wise, Ryan Grant is still out with a hamstring problem while Alex Dunbar suffered a dead leg against the Ospreys but was in line for a rest in any case.

It's been great to have Al Kellock and Tim Swinson back in full training, and along with Peter Horne they are all aiming to be available for selection.

One of the great things about this run of fixtures is that we have real continuity, with three games successively being played at Scotstoun; without doubt the crowd of over 5,000 against Ospreys reflected that.

Now we need another big Glasgow crowd out once more to help us overcome tough and very competitive opponents and hopefully help us take another vital step towards our objective of achieving a place in the RaboDirect Pro12 play-offs for a third successive year.
