HENRY PYRGOS admits Treviso's victory over Edinburgh six days ago has handed Glasgow a timely warning ahead of the Italians' visit to Scotstoun tonight.

Warriors will attempt to make it three wins on the bounce on home soil and take up residence in the fourth and final play-off spot by beating the second bottom side in the PRO12, in this evening's 7.35pm kick-off.

But the Glasgow No.9, who will resume his half-back partnership with Ruaridh Jackson for the first time since the league victory at Cardiff on February 15, is also keen to produce a stand-out performance that will boost his chances of a prolonged starting run in black.

Pyrgos said: "There is no danger of us underestimating Treviso tonight.

"You look at their win over Edinburgh and that has sent out a real warning of what they are capable of now they have their Italian international contingent back.

"Also after the players and the club have had their future security guaranteed for next season they are playing with renewed belief.

"The fact they went to Thomond Park against Munster the week before and led them for 37 minutes before eventually going down 14-3 further underlines how much they have improved.

"So we know we must maintain the standards we have set in the last two weeks and, if anything, lift them a level.

"Given that a win tonight would take us into the top four there is also an extra importance to it."

The Warriors scrum-half added: "So hopefully with the game not on TV we will get a big home gate out.

"The fact we had over 5,000 for the Ospreys game was great and hopefully there will be a few extra on that."

Former Edinburgh tight-head Geoff Cross makes his Warriors debut as a replacement for the crocked Jon Welsh while in the second row Tim Swinson and captain Al Kellock both return.

In the back row, Tyrone Holmes replaces Chris Fusaro at openside and Ryan Wilson comes in for Josh Strauss at No.8.

With Duncan Weir and Chris Cusiter both rested this week, after featuring for Scotland during the RBS 6 Nations, Jackson and Pyrgos fill the half-back axis.

Mark Bennett comes in for Alex Dunbar at outside centre to form a new centre partnership with Finn Russell.

Sean Maitland replaces last week's try-scorer Tommy Seymour after he suffered a shoulder injury while making his match-winning touch down.

Warriors have been further boosted by versatile back Peter Horne's return to the bench for first time this season after more than nine months out with an ACL injury.

And Pyrgos is relishing his reunion with Jacko at half-back.

He said: "I really enjoy playing with Ruaridh as he is such an attacking player and I think we have a good understanding of each other's games.

"Tonight in front of a big Glasgow home crowd is the perfect platform for us, I hope, to help Warriors to another vital victory and help us continue to build our momentum."
