WARRIORS back Peter Murchie says Scotstoun is now a venue that even the top clubs fear.

Gregor Townsend's men have built on a run of five victories in six games in the Guinness Pro12 with two wins in the newly-launched European Rugby Champions Cup. They beat English Premiership cracks Bath 37-10 at home earlier this month then went to Montpellier on Saturday and won 15-13.

It was a result that took them top of their pool ahead of the double-header with Toulouse in December.

Scotland international Murchie believes Glasgow is now a destination no club in Europe will relish visiting.

He said: "It was a great win in France last weekend, the guys dug in and it was a real squad effort.

"We don't really take too much notice of what other people say about us. We know if we've performed or not and we know it has been two great victories against Bath and Montpellier.

"Whether people choose to rate us or not is up to them.

"All we can do is keep on winning. If we do that, people will take us seriously.

"It's no mean feat going to France and winning. It's something a lot of teams fail to do, so I'm sure that result will have stuck out.

"I'm sure a few teams will have taken note."

Glasgow will now put Europe on the back-burners and refocus on domestic matters when Treviso come to Scotstoun on Friday for the final Pro12 fixture before the squad breaks up for the autumn international break.

The Warriors defeated Treviso 23-40 in Italy earlier this month.

But although the Italians have lost all their matches and sit bottom of the standings - while Glasgow are second top - Murchie knows that whoever lines up against them will be in for a tough time.

BUT it is a challenge he is sure the Warriors are ready for. The full-back said: "It's really important we keep our winning run going, especially at home.

"The crowd at Scotstoun has been awesome all season and there is a really good buzz around the club.

"We are back into the league and we are keen to stay where we are at the top of the table. Hopefully we can get a really good crowd in there on Friday night and we will put in a solid performance to give the fans something to cheer about.

"Going into the international break we want to end things on the right note after a successful few weeks.

"It is up to whoever plays on Friday to make sure that happens in front of our own fans."

Tickets for the match against Treviso are still on sale.
