JOSH STRAUSS has warned Leinster Glasgow will come to Dublin all guns blazing.

The teak-tough South African back-row, who becomes Scottish qualified next September, says Warriors are determined to make as many big hits as possible in the opening minutes of tonight's PRO12 final at the RDS.

Strauss knows there will be a huge emotion in the Leinster ranks with Irish talisman Brian O'Driscoll and Leinster club captain Leo Cullen playing their final game of rugby, but says no quarter will be given by the Warriors as they look to land their first piece of major silverware.

Strauss said: "Leinster will be out to make a statement early on - to knock us back in the tackle and really get their home crowd involved. That can't be allowed to happen from a Glasgow perspective.

"So we will be running out at the RDS and absolutely determined to make every tackle, every hit count. Leinster are reknowned at the breakdown and the intensity of their work there is something we are going to have to match every time.

"There has not been a lot between us in recent matches and while they may have won the league match at the RDS we came out on top at Scotstoun, so we know we can beat them. But this is a final, so it will come down to who performs best on the night."

Meanwhile, Gregor Townsend has denied Stuart Hogg has played his last game for Glasgow despite his shock omission from the Warriors' match-day squad of 23 for tonight's final.

The 21 year-old was dropped for the play-off semi-final victory over Munster and has not even made the bench for Glasgow's first major club final, with Peter Murchie once again preferred at full-back.

Hogg was believed to have been spotted in a Belfast Hotel used by PRO12 rivals Ulster earlier this season and speculation is rife in the Emerald Isle that the British Lion and Scotland international may be looking to secure an escape from Warriors, with Ravenhill his preferred destination.

Hogg has also struggled for full fitness with a back injury in recent weeks, yet his failure to make the bench is still a shock.

But Townsend said: "Hoggy has another year of his contract with us still to go and I hope he will have plenty more games to play for Glasgow.

"It was a tough decision to make over the team and squad selection for the final.

"But it was about getting the balance right and I felt that Niko (Matawalu) and Sean (Lamont) gave me more options and better cover."
