GREGOR TOWNSEND has singled out teen talent Zander Fagerson as one of Warriors' brightest stars from Sunday's Treviso triumph.

The Taysider was drafted into the team after the Scotstoun club had been reduced to 13 men as a result of two yellow cards in the 40-23 win in Italy.

Fagerson's showing in the front row was nothing short of magnificent and his head coach wasn't short of praise for the 18-year-old prop.

Townsend said: "Zander was outstanding. He's done really well since he's been with us and we were always looking to bring him on against Treviso.

"But to bring him on when we were down to 13 men and you're up against an Italian front-row? That was a tough task.

"But I thought he was outstanding. It's credit to him and the work that he's putting in.

"This is what professional rugby is all about. It's about working very hard to create opportunities and then taking them.

"Zander has grabbed an opportunity and he's now got to compete hard with the other tight-heads we've got at the club."

Meanwhile, Warriors and Scotland scrum-half Henry Pyrgos has targeted a run of victories for his club in the new European Rugby Champions Cup.

Warriors face Bath at Scotstoun in their first tie a week on Saturday and Pyrgos is determined to help Glasgow progress from their pool for the first time.

He said: "We have learned in this competition that you have to back up good performances week in, week out.

"We had been hoping to get out of our pool last year.

"But we lost in Toulon and then the back-to-back defeats to the Cardiff Blues killed us.

"Reaching the Pro12 final last year was a real confidence booster for us and proved we can step up.

"We are in a tough pool like everyone else and have a tough start against Bath.

"But we are just focusing on that opening fixture and hope to win at Scotstoun."

Capacity for the match will be increased to around 7,000 due to the massive demand for tickets.
