GREGOR TOWNSEND today warned his Glasgow Warriors side they still have plenty to do to achieve their PRO12 play-off objective.

Glasgow produced some scintillating rugby en route to a four-try 29-10 bonus-point victory over Treviso at Scotstoun.

Two tries from Henry Pyrgos and one apiece from Sean Maitland and Niko Matawalu combined with an almost flawless kicking performance by man-of-the-match Finn Russell.

The successful Italian job has confirmed Glasgow's place in next season's inaugural European Rugby Champions Cup and also taken them back into the fourth and final play-off spot.

But with a trip to second-placed Munster on Saturday night, Toony admits Glasgow will have to lift their levels again.

He said: "We are really pleased to have concluded our run of three home games with another victory which has allowed to us to go to Thomond Park, and the game with Munster, with the momentum very much behind us.

"But the win over Treviso has also had the effect of taking us fourth and back into the play-off positions and confirming us as the top finishing team from Scotland as well as cementing our finish within the top seven of the PRO12.

"All of which means that we will be in the inaugural European Rugby Champions Cup next season. So that is all very pleasing.

"But although we are pleased to have achieved these two things, and banked a bonus-point win, there is still a lot to be done over our final five games. The game with Munster will require us to lift our level again and to make sure that a few of the rough edges against Treviso are taken care of."

With Russell in outstanding form, Toony added: "Finn has looked very composed every time he's played for us this season.

"I think playing at 12 he makes the right decisions on the ball, he knows when to pass and when to run and he's also got that kicking option. His tackle at the end to force a turnover was excellent so it's great that he's playing so well."
