GLASGOW Warriors are already breaking records - despite the new season being seven weeks away from starting.
The Scotstoun club have sold a whopping 2,697 season tickets for the new Guinness PRO12 campaign, smashing last year's tally of 2,327 and dwarfing the figure of 1,582 for the previous term.
The average attendance watching Gregor Townsend's troops swelled last campaign, with a record home crowd of 10,000 peaking an average gate of around 6,000.
And, thanks to the team's successful run all the way to the PRO12 final against Leinster - who will be the opposition in Warriors' first game next term - plans are already under way to expand Scotstoun to accommodate the growing Glasgow crowd.
Managing director Nathan Bombrys said: "We appreciate the tremendous growth in support behind the team.
"We would like to thank our supporters for investing in the club, and Scottish Rugby for their continued funding, which enables us to go from strength to strength on and off the pitch.
"We open our Guinness PRO12 campaign with a rematch of our PRO12 final at home against Leinster and we want to make this a huge occasion for the club.
"We are working with our partners at Scottish Rugby and Glasgow Life to finalise additional stands on the east and west ends of the stadium to create capacity for additional season ticket members."
