Glasgow Warriors have received a major boost ahead of Sunday's Champions Cup match against Toulouse with news that Josh Strauss and Leone Nakarawa have signed new deals.

Both have agreed two-year contracts that will keep them at Scotstoun until at least May 2017.

It comes a week after Stuart Hogg and Lee Jones penned deals for the same length of time.Strauss, born in South Africa, arrived in Glasgow in September 2012.

The 28-year-old No8 has 56 appearances for Warriors and will be eligible to play for Scotland from next September.

He said: "I've learnt a lot working with the players and coaches.

"I've enjoyed the last three years here. I'm ambitious and want to win trophies and I believe I have the best chance of doing that at Warriors."

Nakarawa, 26, arrived in Glasgow last year and has played 30 matches.

The 6ft 6in second-row has 24 caps for Fiji. He told glasgowwarriors.org: "Signing my first contract with Glasgow was a big move for me.

"I really enjoy playing for the club and I'm very happy living in the city.

"The supporters have been great with me. I'm delighted to be staying."

Warriors head coach Gregor Townsend said: "Josh and Leone have made a big impact since they joined us. It's a big boost for everyone that they are staying.

The Canadian back Connor Braid has signed a deal with London Scottish until the end of the season which will see him loaned back to the Warriors during next year's RBS 6 Nations.
