DUNCAN WEIR today declared it is business as usual for him and the rest of Glasgow's Scotland contingent now they have returned to domestic duty.

The fly-half was one of a large number of Warriors away in dark blue over the last few weeks, with 11 of them helping Vern Cotter's side defeat Tonga at Rugby Park on Saturday.

While the Glasgow group were sitting in the Scotland team hotel on Friday night preparing for the Autumn Test, however, things were not exactly going according to plan back at club level as Gregor Townsend's team succumbed to only their second defeat of the season away to Scarlets.

It was a small blip that the Warriors head coach will be keen not to make a habit of with four of their next five games before the new year being played under the Scotstoun lights.

And Weir is desperate to get back in a black and blue shirt to help play his part in what could be a hugely significant few weeks in their campaign.

He said: "It's just exciting. I know we had a disappointing result on Friday but I'm excited to come back to a good atmosphere like the one we've built with Scotland.

"I'm glad to be back among the boys here. We've got a big couple of weeks ahead of us. I'm desperate to go forward and grasp every minute I can get at Glasgow.

"We have a huge run of games coming up and, with four at home, it will be the key to our league and European success. It's a great challenge and, as a player, you need to respond positively to the opportunities that come your way."

Glasgow have the opportunity to get back to winning ways this Sunday when Newport Gwent Dragons come to town.

The Scots recorded a bonus-point 33-13 triumph in Wales back in September, but know they will need to prepare well to replicate the result and earn a springboard ahead of their jump back into the European Rugby Champions Cup the following week in Toulouse.

And Weir stressed the distraction of being on Scotland duty has not hampered their training for the Guinness Pro12 clash this weekend.

The 23-year-old said: "When you walk back through the door your mind is completely on Glasgow. Throughout the month away we were still popping in on our days off to see the boys, or even coming in for a stretch or a massage.

"It's all about driving Glasgow forward. We all understand that Friday wasn't good enough and we didn't meet our standards. We have to draw the line there and look forward and keep driving upwards.

"Regarding the game in France, it will be a real battle. But Glasgow has had good success over there in the past. I believe we have proven we have a squad good enough to compete at this level over the first two games, so it's all about showing it again."
