Scots hitman Fletcher set for Olympic snub

FORMER Scotland striker Steven Fletcher appears to have missed out on making the GB Olympic team.

Some players, like Liverpool forward Craig Bellamy, have been told they have made manager Stuart Pearce's provis-ional 35-man squad.

However, Wolves hitman Fletcher has not been contacted by the English FA, who announce the squad on Friday.

Only three over-23 players can make the 18-man list, with David Beckham expected to join Bellamy.

Fletcher has not featured for Scotland since pulling out of the squad to face Northern Ireland in February, 2011, by text.

Barry Bannan and David Goodwillie are thought to remain in Pearce's plans.

Celtic manager Neil Lennon revealed last month that Scotland's young player of the year, James Forrest, would not be available due to the club's Champions League qualifiers.
