PARTICK THISTLE boss Alan Archibald is on the trail of Raith Rovers striker Brian Graham as he bids to bolster his attacking arsenal ahead of their return to the SPL.

The Jags boss has already lost top scorer Chris Erskine, with the 16-goal star set to join Paul Paton in linking up with former boss Jackie McNamara at Dundee United.

And, after informing Steven Craig that he will not be offered a new deal for next season, the Firhill gaffer is on the lookout for a striker to lead the line in Scotland's top flight next term.

SportTimes understands Graham is on Archibald's wanted list after another impressive campaign for Rovers that saw him finish behind only Falkirk's Lyle Taylor and Stevie May of Hamilton in the Irn-Bru First Division scoring charts.

The former Morton forward took his tally for the season to 18 with a double in Rovers' 3-2 win over Livingston on Saturday and they could prove to be his final goals for Grant Murray's side.

Graham is also attracting interest from McNamara as the former Jags boss looks to reshape his squad ahead of his first full season in charge, but Archibald is keen to land his man and make the striker his first signing as Jags gaffer.

Archibald has already told defender Andy Dowie he will not be kept on for next season, while youngsters Brad Halsman and Aaron Sekhon are also set to leave the club.

Contracts remain on the table for the rest of the first-team squad, however, with Archibald determined to keep most of the group that sealed Jags' return to thetop flight after nine years.

Stephen O'Donnell, Ross Forbes and Kris Doolan are all able to speak with other clubs regarding a Bosman switch this summer, but have been offered deals to keep them at Firhill.

Keeper Scott Fox is the only player to sign on the dotted line so far and another keeper will be on Archibald's wishlist after loan star Glenn Daniels returned to Celtic this week.
