The Accies defender grabbed the headlines with a terrific effort as Billy Reid's side beat leaders Morton 2-1 at New Douglas Park on Tuesday.
Accies face relegation battlers Cowdenbeath and Dumbarton in the next week and Gordon is keen to build some momentum.
He said: "It was a huge win, especially when we have two of our biggest games of the season coming up. Hopefully we can get six points.
"Partick Thistle came here and we beat them twice, once in the cup and once in the league. I don't know what it is about the big occasion, but we to rise to it. Maybe we just shock teams and they don't expect it.
"It is a horrible feeling being so young and having to worry about relegation. We will always look up. Three points on Tuesday has helped us out."
The defender is hardly renowned for his goalscoring exploits, but was delighted with only his third-ever goal in Accies colours.
He added: "When I got the ball, I saw there was lots of space to drive into and I heard wee Jonno [Jon Routledge] saying 'shoot, shoot'. I thought 'why not?'. I had my head down and, when I looked up, I saw it going in."
