Moore: Mind the gap with victory

ALLAN MOORE admits Morton will have to be at their clinical best when they face Hamilton Accies tonight.

The Ton travel to New Douglas Park aiming to re-establish their five point advantage over Partick Thistle at the top of the Irn-Bru First Division following the Jags' win at Dunfermline.

Cappielow boss Moore knows they will be hard to break down after watching them being narrowly beaten by Falkirk in the cup. He said: "I watched them on Saturday and I saw them at Firhill the week before when they could have opened up a bit more but they will make it hard for us tonight.

"It will be difficult for us and the pressure is on us to go and win the game. We are going to have to be patient and when we do have the ball and create opportunities, we are going to have to take them. That is what Falkirk did on Saturday.

"They didn't have a lot of the ball but they were more threatening. Hamilton had most of the ball but didn't create that many chances.

"I think the Dunfermline boys had a lot on their plate last week and that probably overshadowed their game [with the Jags].

"As I have said before, we just have to concentrate on ourselves and not focus on other teams and what they are doing. We can't rely on anyone doing us any favours. We have got to keep winning and keep putting the pressure on Thistle.

"They will be hoping that Hamilton do them a favour and are looking for us to drop points every time we play.

"We have got a good enough squad to go to Hamilton and win the game tonight."
