MORTON boss Allan Moore watched his side slam six goals past Turriff United last night – but he was still not amused.
Goals from Michael Tidser, substitute Peter MacDonald and a Peter Weatherson hat-trick belatedly overcame the Highland visitors in a William Hill Scottish Cup fourth-round replay at Cappielow.
Weatherson grabbed his first after 37 minutes after swapping passes with Fouad Bachirou.
Tidser then added a penalty on the cusp of half-time – before firing his second after 63 minutes.
Ton continued to ease their way towards a fifth-round clash with Dundee at Dens Park when MacDonald grabbed his first goal of the season.
Weatherson latched on to a mistake from substitute Kyle Wilkie to notch his second, then he completed his hat-trick six minutes from the end.
But despite the rout, Moore felt his side had struggled to reach the standards he expects of them.
He said: "I wasn't happy, particularly with the first half. You set standards and I don't feel we met them in the opening 45 minutes.
"We didn't get enough passes into the box from wide areas – we had two wide players on, but they weren't getting enough crosses in.
"I'm happy with the result in the end, but I felt we could have played a lot better out there at times."
