ALLAN MOORE hopes to complete deals with three of his Morton trialists after seeing his side beat Motherwell 3-1 on Saturday.

The Cappielow boss fielded an experimental side in their defeat to Sheffield United in midweek and took another look at his contract hopefuls against Stuart McCall's team.

Moore was impressed with his Slovakian stars against the Blades and added a Dutch striker to his pool for the Steelmen clash.

Two trialists were among the scorers and there could be new additions to the Greenock squad as Moore continues to strengthen his team.

He said: "I am delighted with a win over Premier League opposition and we hope to sign three of the trialists."

Elsewhere on Saturday, two of Morton's SPFL rivals went head-to-head as Hamilton Accies faced title favourites Dundee.

Despite Eamon Brophy scoring from the spot and Darren Lyon also finding the target, Alex Neil's side couldn't claim a pre-season victory, John Brown's men winning 3-2.

It was a better day for Ian Murray and Dumbarton as they recorded a comfortable win over East of Scotland side Civil Service Strollers.

Chris Turner put the Sons ahead five minutes after the break before former Aberdeen youngster Mitch Megginson doubled the advantage. Then Steven McDougall made it 3-0.

Trialist striker Liam Cusack did his chances of a deal with Albion Rovers no harm, netting the only goal of the game agaist Stenhousemuir.

The Cliftonhill side will take part in the Oban Tournament this weekend.
