ALLAN MOORE is happy his attacking arsenal is now returning to full strength.

The Morton boss has seen strikers Archie Campbell and Peter MacDonald come back to action in recent weeks after injury lay-offs.

On Monday, Cappielow hero Peter Weatherson bagged a hat-trick in the Ton's 6-0 Scottish Cup replay triumph over Highland League Turriff United.

Moore said: "I was delighted for big Peter to get his three goals.

"He has been working his socks off and that will give him a boost, especially when he sees Archie and Peaso breathing down his neck.

"Archie looked a bit off the pace, I don't think he has fully recovered yet and it might take him a bit longer.

"His game is all about pace and he needs to get his sharpness back.

"Peaso came back and scored a goal, which was pleasing because it builds his confidence as well.

"Going into the second half of the season, it gives us some competition for places and myself and Mark (McNally, assistant manager) something we can look at formation- wise as well.

"We have a couple of options now and ways we can change it."

With no league fixture this weekend, the Ton have plenty of time to prepare for their next outing as they gear up for a crunch promotion clash against Partick Thistle.

And Moore hopes the cup win has given his side a boost.

He said: "It was a good result for the boys, we got a few goals and a bit of confidence so it turned out to be a good night.

"It is a shame we couldn't do it the first time because the boys had to cancel their Christmas night out.

"From that point of view, it wasn't ideal for them.

"At the end of the day, it got us a bit of money in that maybe paid for the trip up to Turriff because we stayed the night.

"Hopefully the replay has paid for that and the main thing is we are through to the next round.

"That was the objective and the boys have got us there.

"We did it in a bit of style in the second half. It is a good confidence boost with the Thistle game coming up next week."
