Sons still look for first point

ALAN ADAMSON admits Dumbarton must up their game as they bid to bridge the gap between part-time and full-time football.

The Sons have struggled in the opening weeks of the campaign and have collected just one point in the Irn-Bru First Division.

They were thumped 5-0 by title hopefuls Livingston last weekend, with a trip to Stark's Park tomorrow another chance to finally clinch that crucial first win of the season.

Adamson said: "Full credit to Livingston, they thoroughly deserved their victory last week.

"I am usually quite objective about games and the week before we were robbed against Hamilton, but against Livi we were well and truly beaten, we have to try and get the heads up for the Raith Rovers game.

"They were too sharp for us, too slick and the gulf between part-time players and full-time players was shown to full effect last Saturday."
