IAN MURRAY admits his summer shopping spree is almost complete after doing deals with strike duo Kevin Smith and Owen Ronald.

Smith has moved to the Bet Butler Stadium from newly-promoted Queen of the South while Ronald has extended his time at the club after joining Murray's side in February.

The Dumbarton boss also ran the rule over Dundee United youngster Scott Smith during their 4-3 defeat to SPFL Premiership side Partick Thistle on Saturday, Mark Gilhaney, Scott Agnew and Mitch Megginson finding the target against the Jags.

Murray said: "He (Scott Smith) was down for the game. Dundee United contacted us during the week and gave us permission to have a look at him.

"We will think about it and get back to them during the week. He is still contracted to them so it would be on loan.

"Kevin Smith has signed. I thought he did well on Saturday.

"He is strong, very strong. He didn't get a lot of service and I felt sorry for him but he put himself about.

"He has great workrate and I think he will cause teams a lot of problems next season.

"We need a centre-half, obviously Ross was down on Saturday. We will maybe add a midfielder but after that we are pretty much done.

"We are happy with the squad we have got. We have still got Nicky Phinn and hopefully we can do something with him as well."
