DUMBARTON continued their preparations for the new Irn-Bru First Division campaign with a 4-1 win over local rivals Clydebank on Saturday.

Adam Strachan had the Junior side ahead at the newly-named Bet Butler Stadium but Mark Gilhaney levelled the scores before the break.

Second half goals from Steven McDougall, Jim Lister and Bryan Prunty eased Alan Adamson's side over the line, with a clash against St Mirren next on the cards for the Sons as they gear up for Saturday's Ramsdens Cup meeting with Queen of the South.

Elsewhere in friendly action, Third Division side Queen's Park slipped to a 2-1 defeat to Brechin City at Lesser Hampden.

Meanwhile, Clyde boss Jim Duffy has bolstered his attack with the capture of former Shotts Bon Accord striker Stefan McCluskey.
