Souness mate in talks on buy-out

SCOTS businessman Brian Kennedy could be ready to step in and launch a takeover of Rangers – if the front-running 'Blue Knights' consortium don't snatch control of the club away from shamed owner Craig Whyte.

Kennedy, said to be worth in excess of £300million and the owner of Rugby side Sale Sharks, has now met with the Rangers administrators, Duff and Phelps.

He has also held several rounds of talks with former Ibrox director Paul Murray, who is fronting the Blue Knights rescue plan, but revealed today that he will not get involved in that consortium.

To add some extra spice Kennedy, who is a close friend of former Rangers manager Graeme Souness, has refused to rule out Souness being involved should he ever gain
