ST MIRREN boss Ian Murray has completed a deal to keep Alan Gow in Paisley for the new Championship campaign.

The former Falkirk and Rangers forward made eight appearances for the Buddies last term after signing a short-term contract in a bid to help Gary Teale's side away from the foot of the Premiership standings.

New Buddies boss Murray has wasted little time in overhauling his squad ahead of the new campaign but Gow has been handed a deal that will keep him at the club for another 12 months.

Gow spent several months out of the game during an injury-hit spell at Bristol Rovers and will now look to help Murray's side clinch an immediate return to Scotland's top tier next term.

Murray has already released Jeroen Tesselaar, Marian Kello, Viktor Genev, Yoann Arquin, Mark Williams and Mo Yaqub while James Dayton and Emmanuel Sonupe were not retained after their loan deals ended.
