FORMER Southampton youth keeper Chris Johns is considering an offer to join Queen's Park ahead of the new season.
The Northern Ireland Under-21 international could make the move to Hampden as part of the QP-UWS Football Academy that allows players to combine studies for a degree qualification with their football career.
Johns started out coming through the ranks of the hugely successful Saints Academy structure but could now sign on with the Spiders as boss Gus MacPherson looks to bolster his squad for the new League Two campaign.
Johns said: “I had been at Southampton for four years and worked with quite a few famous faces. Their Youth system is quite prolific but I have to look to do something different now.
"I was always okay at school academically and I am exploring this opportunity as a back-up plan as full-time football may not be an option for me.”
