SCOTT ALLAN insists his focus is firmly fixed on Hibernian after he was linked with a summer switch away from Easter Road.

The midfielder was a standout for Alan Stubbs' side in the Championship last term and is a target for new Rangers boss Mark Warburton as he rebuilds his Light Blues squad.

Premiership champions Celtic have also been credited with an interest in Allan but he is only looking towards the new campaign.

Allan said: “I’m a Hibs player, I’ve got a year left of my contract and nothing has changed. I’m looking forward to the start of the season here.

“I just get on with my business every day and as I say, I’ve got a year left here so I try not to look too much into it.

“Obviously you hear whispers here and there but I’ve just been focused on doing well for Hibs and kicking on next season again.”

Allan caught the eye at Easter Road after returning north of the border following a couple of years in England.

The 23-year-old failed to make a first team appearance for West Brom after a move from Dundee United and spent time on loan with Portsmouth, MK Dons and Birmingham.

Allan said: “In the future, I would like another chance down there but for me now it’s just about kicking on next season and getting better than I was last year.”
