STEVIE AITKEN is relishing his return to Cappielow after Dumbarton were handed an all Championship tie in the Petrofac Training Cup first round.
The former Ton star will begin his reign as Rock boss in familiar surroundings on July 25 as the Sons make the short trip to Greenock.
And Aitken admits it will be an ideal examination for his newly assembled side ahead of the second tier campaign.
He said: "It's a great test for us early on in the new season.
"We'll be playing a club with a lot of momentum coming off the back of a championship win.
"I know Morton from playing there and from the matches we played when at Stranraer last season.
"I'm really looking forward to seeing how my new look squad will be shaping up for the new season."
Elsewhere in the first round, Queen's Park will make the trip to Edinburgh City aiming to avoid a shock exit while Albion Rovers will face Ayr United and Clyde travel to holders Livingston.
