Hamilton midfielder Grant Gillespie says that fans are in for a treat on Saturday as two of Scotland's hottest talents go head-to-head.

Accies travel to the Highlands to take on Inverness, and Gillespie has backed his team-mate Ali Crawford to outshine Caley Thistle's wonderkid, Ryan Christie.

"I think Ali is one of the best talents in the country," he said.

"He scores quite a few goals and he creates.

"Mind you, I'd say me and Darian MacKinnon do his dirty work!

"But Ali's great for us, he gives us that bit of spark in the final third to create and score goals.

"If he does that then it takes a bit of the pressure off the rest of us."

The form of Crawford has deservedly drawn plaudits, and he has been linked with a big-money move to Leeds in the past.

Gillespie insisted though that he is keeping his feet on the ground.

"If you're doing well then you're going to get attention," he said.

"Ali's been great for us over the last two and a half seasons.

"He's down to earth. All the attention he gets, it doesn't go to his head. He just brushes it off.

"Ali's not bothered by the fuss. He just gets on with what he's meant to do."

Gillespie recognises that Christie poses a real threat to his side's chances of getting a result, but he is happy that young players at Scottish clubs are now getting a chance.

"His performances have been excellent, you can see he's got great potential," he said.

"I think that's great for the Scottish game. Our game's not where it was 10 years ago, but that's allowing for many young players to get a chance and come through.

"It's great that Ryan Christie can come through and showcase his talents on a good stage.

"If he can go further then everybody will be delighted for him.

"We'll have a game-plan and stopping him will be one of the aspects featured. If we can do that then we'll have a better chance of a result.

"Hopefully after the game Saturday it's Ali Crawford getting the plaudits and not Ryan Christie."

An anomaly of Hamilton's record since returning to the top-flight is that Saturday's opponents are the only side that they have failed to beat at least once.

Gillespie is sure that if they can nullify the attacking threat posed by John Hughes' side, they can put that particular record straight.

"Of course we want to put that right," he added.

"We played them three times last season and didn't even get a draw.

"Inverness had an amazing season and hats off to them for what they achieved.

"But I believe we can go there and get a result.

"They like to get the ball down and play. John Hughes has always had that philosophy and it's worked for him.

"We'll look to try and stop them first and foremost, then impose our game.

"If we can do that then I'm confident we've got the players to hurt them and get the three points."
