Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes was more concerned about his own side's display than the gap at the top of the Ladbrokes Premiership being cut.

Despite losing their 100 per cent league record in a 2-1 defeat at Inverness, the 0-0 draw at Parkhead between Celtic and Hearts means the Dons still top the table by four points.

The league leaders delivered a performance of Jekyll and Hyde proportions, being underwhelming in the opening period, despite Ashton Taylor's goal, before dominating the second.

That was of more concern to August manager of the month McInnes, who paid no interest to the score from Celtic Park.

"I'm more concerned about my own team because the team that started better won the game," he said.

"It was the same team that beat Celtic, bar Josh Parker coming in for Adam Rooney, and that had no impact on the result.

"We can't play games in that manner and expect to win. It's not easy criticising my team because they've been fantastic - until that first half."

His Caley Thistle counterpart John Hughes hopes to be the beneficiary of Christie proving a point to Ronny Deila. Christie will join up with Celtic in January and did his parent club a favour with a starring display, despite a late red card.

A goal and an assist for the 20-year-old put Inverness in the driving seat and helped Celtic out, only for the Bhoys to miss a chance to reduce the gap.

"Ryan is definitely here until Christmas at least. If he was trying to help his new club out a bit, I'm alright with that as long as he helps us too," said Hughes.

"He will learn from the red card although I didn't think it was a sending-off. The ref could have been more lenient."
