Albion Rovers manager Darren Young has played down speculation linking him with the vacant managerial positions at Premiership sides Motherwell and Dundee United.

Rovers continued their recent fine form at the weekend as an Andy Barrowman double gave them a 2-0 win over Stenhousemuir at Ochilview.

The victory moves Rovers level on points with Forfar and Airdrieonians on the edge of the play-off spots, and Young insists his focus is firmly on matters at Cliftonhill.

“It’s great to have your name linked with these types of jobs, and we must be doing something right at Albion Rovers to be getting linked with huge jobs like that,” he said.

“It’s great, but we’ll just continue to do our job and if anything comes from that then brilliant.

“It shows that the boys and the team are going in the right direction.

“It was a great performance on Saturday and we were excellent throughout and deserved the win.

“We’ve started to cut out the wee individual errors from earlier in the season and you can see the boys are getting used to moving up a level. It’s coming along nicely and the atmosphere around the place is great.

“Everybody is playing their part, and everyone is enjoying it.”
