Kilmarnock boss Lee Clark hopes his side can steer themselves onto the road to survival after laying on coaches for supporters heading to Sunday's clash at Inverness.

The Rugby Park manager, his players and the club's board of directors have clubbed together to subsidise the costs for fans travelling to the Highlands.

And with just five games left to spare themselves the anguish of a play-off duel, Clark hopes the gesture will put the brakes on Killie's slide towards the Ladbrokes Championship.

They sit four points adrift of 10th-placed Hamilton - who they take on next week - and know a victory over John Hughes' side would be the best possible start to their bottom six run-in.

Clark said: "The fans have been magnificent since I arrived. Their support has been superb.

"They haven't had a lot to shout about over the last few years. The club has been in this position for too long.

"So along with the board of directors, myself and the players thought that because of the travelling situation to Inverness on Sunday morning with an early kick-off being difficult for the fans we would group together and get the funds to provide coaches for them.

"We hope it will keep the costs down for them travelling up. It's our little thank you because we will need them in these last five games.

"Their support is required hugely if we are to be successful. I'm sure we will be if they keep backing us as they have in previous games."
