Barry Ferguson has branded the capture of former St Johnstone midfielder Dylan Easton as a 'major signing' for Clyde.

Easton, who began his career at Livingston, spent last year playing against Clyde with Elgin City, including in this month's play-off clash between the sides.

And the 22-year-old's decision to join the Bully Wee this summer has been hailed by Ferguson as a massive boost to the club's ambitions Ferguson said: "We have worked extremely hard to get him. It's a major signing for the club and I'm absolutely delighted.

"A lot of clubs would love to have Dylan in their squad, and he had a number of options, but he has decided that Clyde is the next step in his career.

"I think this signing is an example of my ambition and the club's ambition and I know that, like the rest of us, Dylan can't wait to get in for pre-season training and get started."

Ferguson has also agreed new deals with defender Chris Smith, midfielders Scott McLaughlin and JP McGovern, and forward Jamie Watson.
