INVERNESS Caledonian Thistle have revealed that Kevin McNaughton has required surgery for an Achilles injury he sustained against Ross County on Saturday.
The 33-year-old signed for the Highlanders this summer after two years in which he suffered from knee and hamstring problems while at Wigan Athletic.
McNaughton had played in all of Caley's matches so far this season but was forced to withdraw during the 3-2 Highland Derby defeat after less than half an hour.
The club announced on Twitter this morning that he has required surgery and while they say a prognosis is not known, it is likely that the right-back could be sidelined for a spell of six to nine months.
