ST MIRREN have appointed former Queen of the South boss James Fowler as assistant manager to work under Jack Ross.
The Championship club announced the arrival of former Alloa manager Ross earlier this week after sacking Alex Rae following a poor start to the season.
Fowler left the Doonhammers in April having taken them to the play-offs in 2014/15 and his arrival was welcome news to Ross.
"I am delighted to be able to bring James to the club and thank the board for their assistance in doing so," said the new St Mirren manager.
"James has a great pedigree in the game as a player and has enjoyed success as a manager in his own right. These attributes and experiences ensure that he will be an asset to both me and the club as we strive to drive upwards."
