Louis Longridge says that Hamilton are recharged, refreshed and ready to fight their way to Premiership survival.

The winger, who returned to the Accies squad for the win over Dundee after three months out injured, has spent last weekend’s break wisely, and now he says he is ready to make his contribution to Hamilton’s battle against the drop.

“I went up north during the break to a caravan that my auntie owns, and I like to go up there and just chill out and switch off,” Longridge said.

“It’s a place called Drimsynie near Lochgoilhead. It’s nice there, the scenery is beautiful, so it’s nice to go up there and get out of the way.

“You don’t get a mobile signal there so you’re really disconnected from everybody and that’s ideal. I made the most of my mobile on the Friday and then I switched off the other two days.

“For me, I was obviously out injured for the last few months, but some of the players on the team would probably have needed a wee break even more than myself.

“They’ve been put through their paces with a lot of games that came thick and fast against the top teams as well, so they probably deserved it more than me.

“It helped me to recharge my batteries though for the games coming up so that I am fully focused, because it will be a tough run-in.

“I’ve done a lot of gym-work away from football to make sure that I’m up to pace with the other boys so that I’m ready to come in and do a job if I’m selected.”

Kilmarnock manager Lee McCulloch has meanwhile told his players that they aren’t yet safe despite sitting in seventh place, as he takes his team to a venue where they haven’t won in seven years.

"The key word since the Hearts game has been complacency,” McCulloch said. “Don't go in thinking that we are sitting seventh so we are safe.

"We are not. We have spoken every day to the players, we have got the players thinking about it.

"We need to be ready for a Hamilton team that is fighting for their lives, but so we are we.

"Form goes out the window. It doesn't matter what team has the momentum, it doesn't matter the personnel.

"It is like a cup final and that is the way I see it and that is the experience I had from last season being in this situation.

"I think Hamilton are in a false position. They have good players, young, hungry, want to succeed and a good management team. I think it has the makings of a good game."
