ALBION ROVERS have appointed lifelong supporter David Douglas as chief executive.
Douglas was previously involved at Clyde and has now made the move to Cliftonhill to focus on ‘club development, coordinating community programmes and ensuring the implementation of club initiatives’.
He said: “I am both honoured and thrilled to take on this role with one of Scotland’s best-loved clubs.
“My father and grandfather were devoted Rovers fans and that emotional pull was something that was hard to resist when it became clear there was a chance to come here.
“I will work as hard as I can to make sure that we all share the same vision for the club and that all of us contribute to a strategy to make that vision happen.
“We have great fans, a forward-thinking and committed board and management committee, and a talented squad led by one of the country’s brightest managerial talents.
“All of us, working together, can make good things happen for this club.”
