Motherwell manager Stephen Robinson admits his side will need to show the same battling qualities to follow up their Betfred Cup heroics against St Johnstone.

Robinson's side beat Ross County 3-2 to set up a quarter-final home tie with Aberdeen despite having Charles Dunne sent off before Craig Curran levelled for the Dingwall team in extra-time.

Robinson now has some fitness worries ahead of Saturday's trip to Perth and knows his players will need to show their resolve again after the 120 minutes of cup action and long return trip to the Highlands.

He told Motherwell's YouTube channel: "We have concerns over three or four who hobbled in with ice packs on their legs.

"We are going to have to do the same against St Johnstone. I watched them on Tuesday night, they are a big, strong, physical team and Tommy Wright has done great with them. They are a top-four side every season.

"So we have to go again and show the same work-rate and character to win the game."
