LOUIS Moult has been named Ladbrokes Premiership player of the month after hitting the net three times for Motherwell in September. 

The 25-year-old has begun the season in sensational form, scoring a total of nine goals in 13 games to help the Steelmen get off to a flyer.

Stephen Robinson's side currently occupy fifth place in the top-flight standings, one point behind third-placed Rangers

Moult picked up the gong on Tuesday after scoring a brace away to Hibernian as well as hitting the net against Kilmarnock in the league last month.

His form continued in the Betfred Cup, where he scored twice against Aberdeen to book a semi-final showdown against Rangers.

'Well resisted offers for Moult over the summer after the Englishman had impressed following his move to Scottish football from Wrexham in July 2015. 

He now has a total of 35 goals to his name in 77 Premiership appearances, a tally he will look to add to on Saturday when Motherwell travel to Hamilton Accies.
