The Scottish Football Association are searching for a new compliance officer after Tony McGlennan declared his intention to leave the governing body later this year.

McGlennan, a lawyer, took over from Vincent Lunny four years ago and has been a central figure in the SFA's disciplinary process.

An SFA spokesperson said: "After four seasons in the role, Tony has decided to return to private practice.

"He will assist with a transition period and will leave the Scottish FA later in the summer.

"We will begin our search for his replacement immediately."

The SFA's compliance officer reviews reported incidents from matches to ascertain if there is a case for retrospective disciplinary action.

The role, created seven years ago by former SFA chief executive Stewart Regan, also involves dealing with any other potential rule breaches which may be brought before an independent panel.
