TOMMY WRIGHT feels more attention should be paid to the scheduling of Friday night fixtures as his St Johnstone side prepare to play three games in seven days.

Saints face Partick Thistle at Firhill tomorrow then return to Glasgow next Tuesday for a League Cup tie against Rangers before taking on Motherwell in the Premiership a week tonight.

Friday night games have proved controversial with Aberdeen - fresh from a long trip to play Hamilton last week - facing another one tonight at Motherwell, who are set to play three in succession.

Saints manager Wright said: "It's a bit unfortunate. We are looking forward to the Friday game as a club but maybe it should not be the teams that are in the quarter-finals of the cup that play next Friday.

"But we've had spells like this before with more games in a short space of time. It's a tough week but we are only concentrating on one game, and that's Partick."
