ZIGGY GORDON has hailed Accies boss Alex Neil's positive thinking as the key factor in his team's march to the top of the Premiership.

Hamilton continued their remarkable run of form on Saturday as they drew 2-2 with Dundee United to leapfrog Inverness Caledonian Thistle in the table, just weeks after they had kicked off the league season with a disappointing home loss to John Hughes' side.

But Accies bounced back to beat St Mirren, St Johnstone, Partick and Ross County before their Tannadice draw.

Next up for Hamilton is the visit of Kilmarnock to New Douglas Park this Saturday and Gordon is looking to silence the club's doubters again.

The right back is proud his team have reached the top while playing in a free-flowing, attacking style. And he praised boss Neil for inspiring his stars to fear no one.

Gordon revealed: "The gaffer instils so much positivity into us. He sets us up to win every game, not to defend for a draw or just try to make it hard for the opposition, like some teams might have expected from us.

"We go into every game confident that we'll win and that we are better than the other team.

"That is down to the gaffer. The players play a massive part in it but he tells us to get the ball down and play. If we make a mistake, we make a mistake. Just as long as we rectify it next time.

"All the boys learn from that. We give our best and try things.

"The manager gives us licence to do that but we are all professionals and we want to win the game, just like everyone else."
