THE return of the MAC has been a smash hit for Hamilton Academical.

And the man himself is determined to take his on-song season with the Lanarkshire club to a new level.

Mickael Antoine- Curier bumped his goal tally for the season up to six on Saturday with a goal in the 3-0 win over St Mirren.

That's on top of the 13 strikes the Frenchman notched last term after signing for the New Douglas Park club for a second time.

The 31-year-old has played a central part to Hamilton's success over the past few months, and he admits there is still more to come from him and his team.

"It's six goals in 13 games for me so I'm happy," said Antoine- Curier, who also provided the cross for Accies' third at the weekend.

"I just want to carry on doing that until the end of the season. You never know what could happen.

"I'm just happy to be playing. The manager has given me confidence and he's been telling me to keep working hard and the chances will come for me.

"I'm happy to give assists for the boys and to score as well.

"You have got to do both sides. As a striker you need to try and score and play other players in as well. I'm happy for him (Ali Crawford) and I'm happy for the team.

"Everyone expects us to be a better team and it's not easy. It's all about getting the three points and we did that."

While Hamilton are currently riding high in the SPFL Premiership, their attention now turns to the Scottish Cup and this Saturday's tie away to Partick Thistle.

And Antoine-Curier sees the clash as an opportunity for him to show boss Alex Neil what he can do.

He said: "To be honest I take every game as it comes. Partick are a good team, we drew the last game at home.

"I'm doing okay. I'm trying to show what I'm capable of and to get on the scoresheet as often as I can.

"I want my performance to be top notch. I'm working hard in training, that's what matters and I'll see where that takes me."
