YOANN ARQUIN is free to face Dundee tomorrow after the SFA overturned the red card he picked up against Ross County.

The striker was sent off against his former side on Saturday as his Buddies bow was cut short but the club launched an appeal to get the card rescinded.

The punishment has now been reduced to a yellow, meaning Arquin, who played in the 1-1 draw with Dundee United on Wednesday night, is eligible to take on the Dees in Paisley tomorrow.

A Saints statement said: "Following this morning's appeal it has been confirmed that Yoann Arquin's red card has been reduced to a yellow card.

Arquin faced a suspension after being red carded in last Saturday's Premiership match against Ross County at the Global Energy Stadium, but today's appeal decision means he is now available for selection for Saturday's Premiership match against Paul Hartley's Dundee side at St Mirren Park."

The Buddies head into the Dark Blues clash four points clear of County at the foot of the Premiership standings after two important results in the last few days.

And Paisley midfielder John McGinn has hailed the impact of interim boss Gary Teale as the Saints hierarchy continue to deliberate on who will lead the club in the long term.

McGinn said: "When you are where we are in the table and play a team as good as Dundee United, you should be happy with a point, but the lads are gutted in there.

"We played really well and deserved to win. That's credit to Gary. You could see how all the boys are fighting to the end.

"We have all rallied round in the last few weeks. The team spirit has always been there but we just weren't playing well and confidence was low.

"But the win against County has given us a wee lift and hopefully we can now build on it. We're only two points behind Motherwell now and Gary made the point after the United game that if we win on Saturday and they lose, we'll go above them.

"It's about looking up now, rather than looking down."
