DARREN YOUNG lamented his team's failure to cash in their goal chances after his team's shock 3-0 home defeat to Elgin City.

The Cliftonhill boss was at a loss to explain the number of fluffed chances that saw his side ambushed by the Highlanders.

The result brought to an end a five-game winning run for Rovers who nevertheless remain six points clear at the top over second-place Queen's Park.

"It was definitely s bad day at the office for us. It's massively disappointing and the goals we lost came from individual errors.

"We had enough chances to score and get ourselves back into the game.

"At times, I thought we played some nice football. We've just got to take this one on the chin.

"We know we can do a lot better but we're still in a great position."

The result gave Queen's the chance to claw back three points on Rovers.

But manager Gus MacPherson was left frustrated by a 1-1 draw away to Berwick.

Queen's grabbed a 19-th minute lead through forward John Carter.

Sean Burns forced a fine save from Berwick goalkeeper Michael Andrews soon after, but Berwick went in level thanks to Paul Willis's penalty after Burns' foul on Ross Gray.

Meanwhile, Jamie Pollock's late goal secured a surprise win for Clyde at play-off hopefuls Annan.

Pollock latched onto Brian McQueen's pass and crashed in a superb finish to snatch the points.

Peter Watson and Clyde's David Marsh both went close in the first half, and Annan goalkeeper Alex Mitchell was kept busy after the break, twice saving from McQueen who also headed a corner wide.
