MORTON have parted company with striker Andy Barrowman.

The forward, who has scored six times for Ton this season, had his contract terminated by mutual consent yesterday morning.

It was a surprise exit for the 30-year-old given him racking up 19 appearances in blue and white.

However, a Morton statement yesterday read: "The club can confirm that forward Andy Barrowman has left the club by mutual consent.

"Thirty-year-old Andy joined Morton in June 2014 having spent the previous season with Livingston. In total he made 19 appearances for Morton, scoring six times with his goals equally divided between the league and Scottish Cup.

"Everyone at Cappielow would like to take this opportunity to wish Andy all the best for the future."

Meanwhile, Morton are hoping to lure former favourite Michael Tidser back to Greenock after he was released by Rotherham last Friday.

The ex-Celtic kid made 127 appearances for Ton before moving south in 2013, only to find starts hard to come by.

If the swoop for the 24-year-old is pulled off, he will become Jim Duffy's fourth acquisition of the window having already lured Peter MacDonald back to Cappielow along with Grant Adam and Ross Caldwell.
