BARRY FERGUSON is determined to make his mark on and off the park at Clyde as he bids to drum up support for the Cumbernauld club.

The Bully Wee moved up to ninth in the League Two standings with a much-needed 1-0 victory over East Fife at Bayview last week and face Albion Rovers tomorrow aiming to build some momentum in the fourth tier.

Last week Ferguson went with club mascot Bully Wee Bull to Bankhead Primary School in Rutherglen as he looks to promote the club and attract more fans along to Broadwood Stadium.

The former Scotland midfielder insists he is happy to play his part away from the pitch in a bid to grow the club from the grassroots up.

Ferguson said: "I am going to sit down with the chairman and board to discuss this. I think we need to get out in the community a wee bit and try do a few things.

"We'll talk about how we can get out and into the schools and drum up some interest by doing some sessions with the kids. I was in a primary school last week and it was great - I thoroughly enjoyed it.

"That is something we all agree we need to start doing more of and I am more than willing to get out there and do it.

"We are training three nights a week but during the day I am more than happy to get out and try to raise Clyde's profile in the community. The first team is my full focus at night but during the day I want to try to get Clyde back on the football map.

"If that means going out and about the schools or doing other things in the community then that is what I am here to do.

"I'm here to try to help the club progress in any way I can."
