GUS MacPHERSON hopes that Queens's Park can find a way to speed up James Baty's recovery from a knee injury.

The midfielder impressed for the Spiders when he joined the club last season, but has been unable to catch the eye of his manager this time out.

The 27-year-old has played just 16 minutes of football this term and will again be on the sidelines when QP face Albion Rovers in the Scottish Cup today aiming to extend their recent purple patch.

MacPherson said: "James has been making very slow progress, so we need to find out if there is anything that can be done to speed up his recovery."

Elsewhere in the Scottish Cup today, League Two Clyde will look to avoid a shock when they travel through to Edinburgh to face Spartans.

The side managed by Barry Ferguson are on a solid run of form after a poor start to the campaign and are unbeaten in their last five outings ahead of the trip to Ainslie Park.
