ST MIRREN have agreed to postpone a trip to Pittodrie next month after a request from Aberdeen to cancel the game due to a heavy fixture schedule.

Tommy Craig's side will kick-off their Premiership campaign on August 9 away to Motherwell and were due to face the Dons the following weekend.

But the Aberdeen clash will be rescheduled after the SPFL confirmed yesterday that both clubs had agreed to find a new date for the top flight fixture.

Aberdeen's opening Premiership game against Dundee United has already been put back 24 hours due to their Europa League clash with Real Sociedad.
