CLYDE gaffer Jim Duffy has warned his side that they can't afford to let their defeat at the hands of newly crowned League Two champions Peterhead derail their promotion play-off bid.

Goals from Andy Rodgers and Rory McAllister downed the Bully Wee as they slipped back into fourth spot with just three games left to play.

And with fifth-placed Berwick just five points adrift of Duffy's men the Clyde coach has ordered his outfit to front up in the final furlong.

He said: "Peterhead have been the best team in League Two this season and congratulations to them. They are worthy champions.

"But our target has been to make a play-off spot our own and we are still very much on target for that."

Meanwhile Albion Rovers' play-off hopes were killed off when they went down 2-0 to Stirling Albion, who now climb into third place.

Gutted Rovers number two Mark Cameron groaned: "Our defending was just not good enough and two sloppy goals shot us in the foot."

Queen's Park drew 1-1 with Montrose to take their improving form to just one defeat in their last five outings.

Spiders' gaffer Gus MacPherson revealed he has already begun a summer recruitment drive.

He said: "It was a decent point and continues to underline our improvement and, hopefully, we can continue that to the end of the season."
