MORTON are set to clinch the services of striker Hermann Kabesele ahead of their League Cup clash at home to Berwick Rangers tomorrow.

Cappielow boss Jim Duffy has been scouring the market for a striker after summer signing Andy Barrowman was injured in the victory over Spartans last weekend.

And now he is poised to land his man by adding 22-year-old Kabesele to his squad today.

The forward has represented the Democratic Republic of Congo at Under-21 level and has won a deal in Greenock after impressing on trial.

He is the second new face to arrive at Cappielow this week after Duffy swooped to sign Jamie McCluskey on a short-term deal.

The winger joins brother Stefan at the club and Duffy said: "We've signed Jamie for a month.

"It's a month primarily to have a look at him as he's not done any pre-season, so he's got a bit of catching up to do.

"Therefore, it's a chance to have a wee look and see how he fits in and for him to get his fitness levels up.

"He's got plenty of talent, he's a crowd-pleaser, an old-fashioned dribbler.

"It also gives us the option of a natural wide player, which we don't really have at the club at this moment in time."
