DARREN YOUNG hopes back-to-back wins signal the end of Albion's title jitters after they maintained top spot in the League Two standings on Saturday.

Victory over Annan keeps Rovers a point clear of Queen's Park having played one game less and they are now five clear of Arbroath after they crashed to defeat at Montrose.

Ally Love bagged a double on his return to Galabank while former Partick Thistle striker Mark McGuigan was also on target for the visitors.

Albion suffered costly defeats to East Fife, Clyde and East Stirlingshire before clinching a much-needed win against Berwick last weekend and boss Young said: "I am delighted for the boys after the wee blip we had last month. Hopefully that is us back on track."

Rovers' 3-1 win keeps them just ahead of QP after the Spiders earned a 1-0 triumph against East Fife at Hampden.

Ciaran McElroy netted the only goal of the game after eleven minutes and gaffer Gus MacPherson said: "The work ethic in our group is fantastic and we want to keep up the challenge for as long as we can."

Elsewhere in League Two, Clyde extended their unbeaten run to seven matches as they drew 1-1 with East Stirlingshire.

Steven Brisbane gave the visitors the lead at Broadwood after just nine minutes but Brian McQueen earned a share of the spoils just after the half hour mark.

The Bully Wee are just four points adrift of the play-off spots Barry Ferguson said: "We never really got going in the first half but it was a lot better in the second.

"The players are disappointed. I put a lot of pressure on them.

"We must try and always do better because this club has been down for too long. On our day we are a match for anyone."
