Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes is not desperate to bring new players to the club in January.

The Dons signed four players up on new contracts on Monday including key forwards Niall McGinn and Adam Rooney.

And McInnes will be satisfied if he has a fully-fit squad with no new additions come the end of the transfer window.

"Whether we are active in January or not remains to be seen," McInnes said.

"We feel we have the basis of a good squad, we have managed to get over injuries and still pick up results.

"We hope to get one or back in the next few weeks but we have to make sure that we have got a squad that can deal with the demand.

"We have got a semi-final at the end of January and hopefully we can have a strong end to the campaign."

Asked specifically about Inverness left-back Graeme Shinnie, who comes up against the Dons on Sunday, McInnes said: "While Inverness and other teams have got players I admire, I'm sure there's other manager that like my players.

"You just have to come out the transfer window hopefully stronger than through players coming back from injury, or one or two players coming in, or certainly no-one going out."

McInnes stressed that the club's recent deal to wipe out their debt did not mean he would be given "carte blanche" in the transfer market.

"I'm sure if I wanted to try and bring someone in I can always make a case for it.

"I feel we have a lot going for us as a club and I don't feel we need to be as active as we once were. I believe this squad can achieve results."
