Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes ranks his side as outsiders for the Europa League qualifier against Real Sociedad, but thinks they could have the edge when it comes to fitness.

The Dons take on the La Liga side in Spain tonight, just two rounds away from the tournament's group stages.

Their opponents have yet to play a competitive match, but with Aberdeen already having four qualifiers under their belt, McInnes is confident his players are physically more prepared for the challenge.

"I think it's natural in any cup competition the further you progress, the likelihood is you're facing a team who are better again," he said.

"I think any team who qualifies for Europe through La Liga are a very good side, and Real Sociedad are certainly that.

"They have good experience in their team, Champions League experience as well, and we feel as though it'll be a big ask for us to get a result.

"But at the same time we have got certain advantages over them and that being game time and being ahead of them in terms of preparation."
